Living in a small apartment can be a challenge but it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your lifestyle or live in a sea of disorderly conditions. No matter how many square feet your apartment is, there are ways to make it feel larger and more comfortable. We are going to give you some tips to maximize space and organize belongings to help you live big in your small apartment.   Having a small home does not mean that it has to be lacking in comfort. Adding a door mat outside can make your home more inviting. Depending on the layout of your home, you may not have the luxury of owning an expansive sofa, clusters of chairs, or a large dining room table. Choosing furnishings that can be used for multiple purposes can help prevent your home from getting cluttered with too much furniture. A small table with narrow chairs can be used not only as a dinner table but as a reading retreat, a spot for guests to hang out, or a nook for office work. Getting a table with a drawer under it is a great way to create some storage to hide your office work and prevent disorder. Because the interior of your home is limited, you could make use of some of the outdoor space as part of your home’s living area. Gardens, patios, and other outdoor spots can help expand the range of space you have in your living area.  You can place patio furniture outside to extend a portion of your home to the outdoors, making your home feel larger. If you don’t have enough space for an entire patio set or don’t want to leave furniture outdoors, you can get portable chairs that fold up and can be stored.   You can also use modular or folding chairs on the inside of your apartment. This gives you the option of having extra seating when you need it but also gives you the capability to collapse and tuck them away when they’re not in use. Collapsible tables, such as tv trays or long folding tables, will also give you flexibility when guests need a place to eat or use a hard top. It may be efficient to find a unique way to store your foldable table and chairs. Every inch of your small apartment is important so you might have to find a creative way to store items that you don’t use every day, such as table linens, towels, and more.   Another great way to make your apartment feel larger is by hanging mirrors, aluminum, stainless steel, and other shiny objects on your walls. You can also use these items are décor on shelves or tables. The light will bounce off these shiny objects which will brighten your apartment and make a small space feel larger. Leaving windows uncovered, without any curtains, will create a sense of depth and can also give you a nice view. If you prefer privacy in your home, a sheer curtain can accomplish both depth and light, while maintaining some privacy. Using pale colors in your home can also make the space feel bigger because it keeps the room light and airy. Hanging shelves near the ceiling can draw your eye upward, making the room feel taller and also maximizes storage.   Maximizing the space in your small apartment is not a difficult task but it does take some time and planning. Once your living space has been organized and revamped, you can also read some tips on maximizing your closet space . Hopefully these tips will help make your home feel larger and more comfortable.
