Summer season is a great time to entertain family and friends for a relaxing moment, but since the heat of the day is in the afternoon, it’s best to entertain guests for an early brunch or an evening dinner party. Utilizing summer décor is all about finding the right balance between relaxation and enjoyment in a cozy living space. To make your home look appealing to guests, you need to add some decorations in areas where guests usually stay, such as in the living room and dining room. Use some decorating ideas in your living room with whimsical summertime ideas or putting some accents to the dining room, especially tables and chairs. The following are some easy summer décor ideas that can help make your home look beautiful during the hot summer months. During summer, kids may need a quiet space for reading during their three-month break from school. So you need to create a cozy reading nook where they can enjoy their time reading books or browsing the internet with their smartphones. To create a reading nook, find an empty corner under an open window or in their own bedroom and furnish the seats with colorful cushions. Make sure there’s an adequate reading light by placing an extra lamp there. This reading nook should not be around the living room and should be free of traffic and household noise. If the space is directly open to the rest of the room’s furniture and décor, hang a curtain or use a folding screen to partition the space. If your home decorations are dark or have muted tones that were used during the fall and winter season, assuming you haven’t already changed it during spring time, it’s time to change it to light and airy colors. Use removable slipcovers or decorative throw pillows on your sofa to make it look appealing, bright and colorful. Choose white and neutrals which are ideal colors for summer season. Use white and khaki slipcovers that can be situated easily with formal throw pillows for an instant transformation. If you want to bring in the cool night air during summer and keep out the hot summer sun, use light curtains instead of drapery. Drapery materials are usually dark and heavy, while curtains are usually paired with sheers that can help contribute a cooling effect in the summer months. If you prefer to enjoy the views, and don’t want to use curtains, use valances. Valances with textures and colors of summer will leave your windows with an unobstructed view of the outside. As the feeling of summer is all about the outdoors, bring the outdoors into your home. Adorn your home with flowers, plants and fresh fruit centerpieces that can fill your home with a sweet aroma. To make your home look more rustic, try to add eco-friendly materials like hemp, bamboo, and jute area rugs. These materials can bring a natural feeling of the outdoors into your home. An even better way to welcome summer into your home is by appreciating a breathtaking view. Place your furniture facing towards a mountain view, ocean, pool, or lush green yard. The joy that you will feel in your home can be based on your emotions. Opening windows and seeing nature is a tranquil thing that can give you joy. What if you don’t have a view from your window? Consider buying a painting or wall décor with art that you love to look at. So, if you want to make your home look more appealing to guests, learn some summer home decorating tips as it can help make your space look cozy and beautiful.
